ALL TYPES OF FISHING LINES

There are many different types of fishing lines available and choosing the right line for your fishing style is important for maximising your chances of catching. Below is an overview of the most popular types of fishing lines and their characteristics:

  1. Fluorocarbon fishing line: Thin and invisible line often used as leader material. Fluorocarbon offers excellent strength and has strong knot strength.

  2. Nylon (monofilament) fishing line: Economical, flexible line that is easy to knot. Suitable for a wide range of fishing styles, but has a lower tensile strength unlike braided line. This line also has a higher stretch percentage, which is ideal for absorbing fish head shake. This makes it an ideal line for carp fishing and whitefish. In addition, this line is also less visible underwater than braided line.

  3. Braided fishing line: Strong, durable line consisting of multiple threads. Offers high tensile strength and abrasion resistance. Unlike nylon, this thread has no stretch, allowing you to keep better contact with the fish. This makes it an ideal fishing line for predatory fishing.
