The all new Tranx has been designed as a 'big fish working machine'. It is a heavy duty low profile baitcasting reel and certainly unique in the Shimano EU range. It is an incredibly strong, durable and reliable reel and is ideal for both freshwater and saltwater fishing. Such reels are often used for fishing larger and heavier lures for bigger fish. The Tranx is perfectly made for this job and that's why it is not a very light reel (330 grams). The reel can of course be used for pike fishing in freshwater with heavier lures such as jerkbaits, crankbaits and spinnerbaits weighing up to 100 grams. For saltwater fishing, the Tranx is used in a similar way, but will find its purpose more in jigging or lifebaiting for large and fighting sea fish.
