The Wide Gape hook is based on the Classic Maruta Kinryu model. The point is bent slightly inwards, which means this hook will not only prick quickly but also provide a solid hold during the drill. This combined with an ultra sharp point, form this unique hook model. The eye of the hook is bent 15 degrees inwards, which will make the hook want to turn easily towards the lower lip. This line aligner effect can be further enhanced by using a piece of shrink tube over the eye of the hook. The Wide Gape is a classic model used by many top anglers today.
